PFO Integration Strategy Overview

PFO integrations are centred on Azure API Management, with PFO acting as the core system. All vendors and internal systems integrate through APIM, creating strong dependencies on gateway availability, identity configuration, and stable data contracts. Successful integration relies on well‑governed onboarding, secure access controls, clear environment strategy, and mature operational support.

The PFO Integration Strategy Framework treats integration as a core programme capability, not a technical add-on. It sets out how internal teams and external suppliers will work to deliver a secure, scalable, and joined-up solution landscape aligned to long-term organisational goals.

The framework is built around three operating modes: Internal Alignment, External Management, and Hybrid Integration. These ensure that workstreams stay aligned to architecture and business needs, suppliers are held to clear integration standards, and accountability is shared across all delivery parties.

It is underpinned by strong governance, a common data model, and security by design. Dataverse is identified as the primary system of record, Azure API Management is the control point for external integrations, and standard connectors are preferred where possible to reduce risk and complexity.

Delivery is supported through formal solution governance, application lifecycle management, integrated reporting, and change control. A single operating model, shared tooling, and outcome-based commercial arrangements are used to improve transparency, reduce rework, and protect programme value.

In summary, the framework positions integration as a strategic control mechanism that supports delivery assurance, reduces risk, and helps ensure the PFO programme remains coherent, secure, and sustainable
